Three Broken Promises

               I started to read this online book called Three Broken Promises By: Monica Murphy. This book is about a girl named Jen and a guy named Collin. Collin and Jen knew each other since they were little Collin's best friend was Jen's sister. There was always something special or different with Jen and Collin. Jen's brother respected that, when he was alive. Jen's brother and Collin were supposed to go to the war in Iraq, but Collin didn't go. Collin was getting some extra money from his rich dad to open a business and he wanted Jen's brother to be a part of it, but he stuck to his plan. Also Collin and Jen's brother had a huge argument over it and when he went to Iraq they started talking again. The last thing Jen's brother said to Collin was if anything happened to him that to take care of his baby sister. Jen had ran away and was working at 'Gold Diggers'. Gold Diggers was not a very good place for a young girl to be working at. She was living in her car when Collin finally found her. Collin and Jen sold pieces of her junk car to get some extra money. Collin took Jen in and took care of her for like two years. Recently Jen had told Collin how she felt and it just so happens that Collin felt the same way. There is something about Collin that makes himself unreachable. He has built a 'steel wall' around him to let no one in. But, so far Jen is working really hard and she tells him she's going to run away again. She has made a couple of real friends and it'll be hard to leave them, but she hates the fact that everyone knows everyone in that town just like before and she didn't want her past to come up. Even if it's a new place it'll end up being the same. Collin has really bad dreams of him letting Jen's brother die over and over. When he has these types of dreams Jen gets up and comforts him. She is also sad, but Collin has it worse and he feels that he should've been the one who died out there and if it were up to him that he would have traded places. He thinks that he's screwed everything up and the only thing that he has done right was take care of his sister. Collin is a blue eyed, blonde haired, cute guy. The ladies love him, but he only wants Jen. All he has to do is think of Jen and he won't even look at another girl. Also Collin has trouble opening up to people. So, those nights where Jen was the only thing that could help him, he would deny it happened. He doesn't really like people that are nosey and all in his business.

              The character I'm going to be analyzing is Jen. Jen is a very pretty, yet mysterious person. She is the type of girl to not have many friends. To only be open with some barely any. Have you ever heard the quote "Quality not Quantity", well yeah, that's how Jen is. She is madly in love with someone who she is afraid to be with. She is a very organized person. She likes to plan things before hand. To make sure that she has everything in order. Now that she has called it out on, a little too early without a lot of planning she feels embarrassed. Like she already told him that she was leaving in a month and it's only been a week. She needs more time to plan. Also since Collin and Jen sold Jen's car she has no way to get to Sacramento and she wants to do it all by herself without help. She has been saving up so that she can get things started over there, but she hadn't thought of renting a car and that's a lot of the money. So she can't get that it'll throw everything off.
